I used to get so excited over the idea of updates to my favorite iPhone applications, but now it just pisses me off. Not because I don’t want the cool new features, bug fixes and functionality changes - but because of the way Apple (specifically iTunes) handles App Updates.

Problems? Why yes there are:
Joe Hewitt, the well-known Facebook staff member and developer of Facebook for iPhone has decided to leave the project for other ones. He cites Apple’s ridiculous App Store policies as the sole reason he was frustrated to the point of quitting.
Well..that sucks.
Really interesting blog post by Joe Hewitt. He goes on to say that the iPhone app approval process should be removed completely comparing it to the world wide web.
Totally real.
And to think, Apple only gave us shit like a calculator.
TechCrunch just pointed out that Joe Hewitt (creator of the Facebook for iPhone application) recently tweeted that the app is “pretty much done”. All we’re waiting on now - besides the app store approval game - is Facebook to translate the application into a bunch of languages.
The updated app is said to have a much more useful news feed, ability to like and comment on feed items, a customizable home screen, and for us iPhone 3GS users, video support (which was thrown in at the last minute).

I’d have to say the disclaimer on this makes me giggle.
Look’s like the FCC has sent out a few letters to Apple, Google and AT&T to “find out what’s going on with Apple/AT&T’s decision to reject Google Voice from iPhone.

Today, Apple released iPhone OS 3.0.1 to address the SMS vulnerability that everyone’s been talking about lately. Installing it now, not that I was all that worried to begin with.
