Just Get A Blog

Sometimes I view things that happen from a perspective in which I can comment, judge and have an opinion that really won’t matter in the slightest. There seems to be a growing trend that is starting to bother me. I know already if anyone reads this they’ll call it a complaint, but whatever.

I’ve noticed every once in a while I’ll go on Facebook and see a news feed item that says “22 of your friends commented on a note by … ” and I think to myself, uh oh not again.

Am I afraid to question things? No. Am I bothered by other people questioning things? No. Do I fear change? No. Do I feel inferior? Absolutely not.

My question comes in what happens to these posts. It’s like everyone tries to be civilized and mature but end up just using big words to explain why they’re the only ones right and it kind of bothers me.

Just today I noticed a note written by someone on Facebook about the existence of God. Valid question, valid argument but that’s not what bothered me. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but why is it that these notes turn into this giant spectacle for people to try out their big words? I don’t understand.

The argument went back and forth and back and forth about how God is real and then every once in a while someone would take it back and say “Well, how do you know?” and then of course you had those with the conspiracy theories, and those who tried to be unbiased and just offer another perspective.

Like always, this turned into an argument and this is the part that gets me annoyed. People are going to have different perspectives but if you would not like opinions, or “do not expect” them I suggest finding another publishing medium, preferably one that doesn’t market itself as keeping people in contact by publishing EVERYTHING they do.

Basically, my point is not that you can’t have an opinion, or that you can’t ask questions but I think if you’re going to prompt people to respond, expect that people will have wildly different views…and LET THEM HAVE THEM.
