My Router Is Vindictive

Lately, I’ve been having a lot of trouble with my wireless router. At this point, it’s a few years old so I guess it’s to be expected. For some reason it’ll just randomly lose it’s ability to communicate it’s own IP address, will drop off signal, will just shut itself off, etc. I go through periods where it works really well for days and then I’ll days of constant trouble having to reset it constantly and hearing my mom in the other room saying “Are you having trouble getting on the internet or is it just me?”.

Today, I made the decision it’s time to get a new one - and in true John Burke style, the only option I would consider this time around was the Apple Airport Extreme Base Station. It’s got 802.11N which is sweet and I know it’ll work well with all my Apple technology.

My router must have heard me talking to my mom about it because, and I’m not joking when I say this, anytime I’ve tried to access Apple or any Apple related website, the router crashes and takes five minutes to reboot and work again.

There’s no reason to be so mean Belkin, it’s not right. We had a good run, but I’m trying to be mature about this and not hurt you anymore than I have. You were so good to me, but it’s time we both see the obvious and move forward. No hard feelings buddy.
