Magic Trackpad
I first heard about something known as the “Magic Trackpad” a few months back. It originally surfaced during the “iSlate” hysteria that eventually surfaced as the iPad. I didn’t give it much thought because the concept of a multi-touch plate is almost entirely useless to a Mac laptop owner (which I am).
That being said, I figured I’d see what happened when it...
Locked Out →
drinkyourjuice:
most tantrum-prone basset hound, I locked myself out of the apartment this morning and found myself pissed in the you-can-only-get-so-pissed-at-a-dog,-Christine way that warrants short, curt responses but surprisingly stirs up no real rage, and standing on the building’s front step ringing every single doorbell in the hopes that someone would answer…
Christine Friar...

Microsoft Just Doesn't "Get" The iPad →
A great article by ArsTechnia about how Steve Ballmer and the folks at Microsoft have absolutely no idea what they’re doing in the tablet market. An excerpt:
The iPad is a neat package. It’s not a device for everyone. There are lots of things the iPad doesn’t do well; there are many things the iPad doesn’t do at all. But it’s not trying to be these things;...

Why The Internet Is Ridiculous
Last night I was watching “The Late Late Show” on CBS as I tend to do most nights. Craig Ferguson made an obscure reference and said something like “I’ll be sure to put that on my website - it’s www i don’t give a rat’s ass what you think”.
At the time, I thought nothing of it but after re-watching it today, I decided to type in the domain name and...
EMT Shift # 1

So tonight was my first shift as an EMS Attendant at Syracuse University Ambulance. I was a little worried as to what it was going to be like and had no idea what to expect. When I got here it was a little crowded with people but it calmed down to just myself, the crew chief and the driver as well as the dispatcher.
Right now, it’s 3:16 AM and I’m still on duty for...

– - RIM Response to Apple’s press conference claims.
I knew this was going to happen.
My issue is that Steve didn’t say they were bad devices. He actually went on to say that RIM’s Bold 9700 is the most popular phone in business settings as well as saying that the reason the phone...

It looks like the iPhone 4 might be their Vista, and I’m okay with that.
– - Kevin Turner, Microsoft’s Chief Operations Officer
Only one problem with your logic Kev… the iPhone has one isolated problem that has yet to be formally addressed where as EVERYTHING about Vista is awful. Plus, kudos for making the world’s shittiest operating system and then...

I Have A Dumb Question
Lauren: Hi, I have a really dumb question.
Me: Okay...
Lauren: My windows keep fogging up and I don't know what to do because I turned the squiqqly lines on.
Me: What is the temperature set at?
Lauren: Cold. The air conditioning is on.
Me: So you're blowing cold air at the windows when it's like 80 degrees outside and you're wondering why the windows are fogging up?
Lauren: Yeah.

Credit Irony
I’m no stranger to being totally pissed off and vocal about how ridiculous I think the whole credit card application process is. That being said, I was able to finally get approved for one and it’s been helping my credit score a tad.
That being said - it’s no easier to get approved for anything. I wanted to increase my credit limit because it’s so low, that even using my...

iPhone 4: Just throwing this out there...
I keep reading complaints from people about this stupid reception issue, about the phone being glass, about the network, about the lack of cases.
iPhone 4 is the shit.
So everyone needs to think about how much fucking technology is in their hand and stop sweating it over the little stuff. Sheesh people, relax.

Doing Grown-Up Things
Today was a big day for my adult life.
I realized I’m moving into my apartment next week and it would probably be a good idea to get all my utilities figured out and stuff. I called over to National Grid and scheduled the power to get turned on and then once that was all figured out, I bought the cable and internet package and even got a deal along the way.
Bills. Growing up. Hmmph.

How To Use Quotes From My Cousin Vinny At Work →
The worst part about this - when I read the quotes, I hear them. I hear the movie playing in my head… how he says the words, the noises. It’s bad. I’ve seen this movie too many times.

why everyone goes bat shit crazy over fireworks. I mean they’re pretty and I enjoy them, but they are literally the same every year. In my 20 years of life I’ve never heard any one say anything remotely close to ” Oh man they invented this new type of firework and it is going to blow your mind!” so why are people lining my street with like lawn chairs in the back of their pick up...

10 Missing Features in WordPress →
Great article. Realistically, every one of the features mentioned in this post are available through the use of third party plugins and extensions, but to have this functionality built into the actual Wordpress software would be great.
My favorite suggestions: custom user role permissions and related posts. A better search would be kind of nice too.

Did you hear, Verizon is getting the iPhone?
Oh, really. Are they now? And the last ten times that it was reported didn’t count because…?
This is kind of a sore spot with me. Following up on my post from yesterday about the iPhone reception problems, I have to say I don’t hate AT&T. I think that any network that had exclusivity over the most popular phone in the world would have had trouble coping. That being said,...
